I’m sure Andrew is probably wondering why all the studies, but I guess I’m that kind of guy. This one is about the actual process the pages will be done with. I’m leaning towards doing all the pages in pencil like Europe’s First Smoker or Turpentine then using ArtRage to do the under painting with a grayscale palette. I like the looseness of both layers and how they fit together, and as far as I know it’s pretty unique looking.

Here’s the underpainting only, which is kind of interesting in it’s own right :

I think my biggest issue will be in keeping it from getting muddy and losing contrast, so I envision a lot of building up, just to knock it all down again. But I was planning the same thing by painting each page and this’ll be MUCH faster.

So it’s one thing when a few friends decide to cover a song from your “band” (I put it in quotes because, as we are fond of saying, we’re really drunks with a music problem), but when a dude you don’t know from Adam covers it, it really seems like this goofy thing might have legs.
